Thank you for all your support in the white room Dawlish and the Cellers bar Teignmouth
The Landlord of the White room (Scott) stated that he had never seen so many people dancing since the room opened, What a rocking night, and has promptly booked the dils as a regular bi monthly slot and and afternoon / evening slot for the Dawlish Carnival ( Date and time will be added to the site when confirmed )
The Cellers Bar (Cellersstoke) on Fathers day was another great gig, The Dils local support was tremendous, followed by an excellent performance by Bad Mojo, it really set the tone for the afternoon bands, finalising with the Quals in the evening. A massive thank you for all our supporters, overall more than £1,000.00 was raised for the Helen Foundation Charity. Fantastic.
All the proceeds for the Giraffodils CD's sold that day, went to the foundation.
The site contact page has added a new feature, Become a Giraffodilo, please join the site and we can update you with all the latest news as it happens and also the latest news on the Teignmouth Carnaval.
Thanks again Giraffodilo's :) |
1st June 2009
On behalf of all the Giraffodils, I would like, possibly love, to thank all the Giraffodillos out there who came to our recent gigs at Dartmouth, Exmouth and the various venues in good old Teignmouth. There is nothing we love, or rather there is nothing we love more, than seeing familiar faces at our gigs, familiar faces buying us drinks, and of cause, being moved by, and subsequently, being moved, not on, but to, dance, with us the Giraffodils. (Care was taken with the punctuation of that last sentence, so please, be on time!)
Regulars at our recent gigs will already be aware that four of the Giraffodils each take lead vocal duties, and now Aidy has found his way into the frame with his soaring harmonics during "Driving", not to mention "F and C", which apparently came about after Bills beach hut was washed away one dark and stormy night, he was heard to mumble, “that effin' sea" and a new song was born, at 6.47pm on the 1st November 2007 weighing 7lbs 4oz.
We are looking forward, (as looking backward would involve some form of entry into the time-space continuum) to the gigs at The White Room, Dawlish (rear of the South Devon pub) on the 13th of June, and Cellar stock on the 21st, where we are playing at 3pm, as our fan base have to be tucked up by 6pm, from mighty acorns little trees grow. Will be a great gig, Tommy will be donning his spare floral Y-fronts and will be luring the unsuspecting, with subtle overtones, as will Ladene, or Norman as she would rather not be referred to, I tried it once ,"Hey Norman," I shouted, not even a flicker, bloody prima dinners.
So, onward and upward , oxygen masks at the ready,
Giraffodils are go.
P.S. The best anagram of "Giraffodils are go", wins. Just wins. We're not soddin' U2 yet you know. It's the taking part that counts. OK, whoever wins gets a quid off. |
